Ralph Hartley was a British Post War & Contemporary landscape artist based in Northamptonshire (1926~1988)
He was awarded a silver medal at the Paris Salon in 1966 and has exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British artists.
This beautiful painting dated 1959 was in the height of his career.
The fluid use of brushstrokes gives the painting a certain vitality and make the scene come alive.
